Featuring 121 (in each volume, 242 total) 18th and 19th century works of art by British painters.
Many artists are represented such as W.H. Bartlett, Birket Foster, J. Constable, J.E. Millais, Sir Edwin Landseer, Sir Joshua Reynolds, T. Gainsborough, and W. Hogarth.
Each work is beautifully displayed as an engraving on a full page, followed by a full-page description, separated by a thin piece of paper in between to protect the art and the text. Five raised bands to spines. Engraved title pages, gold embellished foredges.
This set is from an estate where they were neatly kept within our family for over ninety years and clearly very well taken care of.
