The outer cardboard box is missing but it is brand new in the original styrofoam. I took off the outer tape and unboxed the set so I could take photos. It was the original tape, brittle and yellow. The train components are perfect and so cute. I'm told the Shih Tzu version is very very scares due to the dogs popularity. Beautiful collectible set.
