Framed Street Art bought in 1992 from a street artist whose name is in the lower right hand corner.

The black and white sketch — in fine detail — features a still popular Italian Restaurant, La Lanterna, housed in a small Federal Style Townhouse dating to about 1828.

Pete and Toshi Seeger lived in this little Townhouse in Greenwich village before the Restaurant “moved in.”

“Eve’s Hangout,” one of the first gay (Lesbian) bars in the Village was mostly underground in 129 MacDougal, as was, around 1850-ish, the use of the spacious cellar for the “Underground Railroad” (a place for the hiding of runaway slaves from the South).

Dimensions of frame: 10” wide by 12 1/2” tall.

The more you look at this picture, the more you see. From the birds in the clouds to the diners in the window of La Lanturna dl Vittorio (original name of this eatery because the place was started by Carlo Vittorio Antonini). You can see the mail slots in the adjacent door, backs of TV’s in upstairs windows.
