This vintage original 1947 1-Sheet (27" X 41") features images highlighting a love triangle between its 3 major movie stars: Joan Crawford, Dana Andrews, & Henry Fonda. The film directed by Otto Preminger also stars Ruth Warrick & Peggy Ann Garner. The poster originally contained paper loss, pinholes & discoloration. While professional restoration addressed discoloration thru bleaching plus filling in minor fold lines & pin holes, there are signs of above wear & tear as well as of restoration. Overall, the poster has vivid colors & displays remarkably well.
This 20th Century Fox NYC post WWII melodrama starred 3 of the biggest stars in Hollywood during the 1940s. The images of each star very well done. Reviews at the film’s release were generally positive but restrained. It has seen reappraisal, & now enjoys a minor cult classic following for its realistic treatment of a typically melodramatic plot. It is now considered a misunderstood masterpiece & one of Preminger’s best film.
