Cool Peter Max poster of John Lindsay created in 1968 while Lindsay was Mayor of New York City during the peak of his popularity as mayor & a national figure in the political arena.
Peter Max was a Pop artist who was hugely popular, especially with college students. During the peak of his fame in the late 60's & early 70's, only Andy Warhol surpassed Peter Max in popularity. His art was also known as Psychedelic Art & was considered very avant garde for the times. John Lindsay was the popular mayor of New York City from 1966 to 1973. Articulate & handsome, Lindsay became a well known figure nationally, particularly when he ran unsuccessfully for the Presidency in 1972.
Poster measurement 11”x16”.
There is a slight tear that is about 1" long on the left border. See last photo.
