Gorgeous Rudolstadt porcelain oyster plate, circa 1880–1900, measuring 9.0" across. Features five pink oyster wells and a central dip well set in rich raised gold. The scalloped rim displays deep burgundy leaves with gilt floral accents in a Chinoiserie / Japonesque style, highly popular in the late 19th century. Pristine on the front with three small firing niches on the base rim, typical of the period. No chips or cracks. An excellent collector’s example referenced in Karsnitz’s Oyster Plate book.
